2022 Vintage
“En Primeur” Programme

En Primeur Week which will take place in Bordeaux from April 20 to 27, the occasion for the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux to bring together professionals from the distribution and the press to taste the 2022 vintage. Discover the word of the President, as well as the tasting program of this international event.
“The mercury is rising, the first shoots of green are appearing, the migrating birds are returning… Spring has sprung in Bordeaux, and that can mean only one thing: Primeurs season is upon us.
This traditional system, unique to Bordeaux, gives professionals and wine lovers a rare opportunity to sample the fruits of the most recent harvest while the wines are still ageing in the barrel, many months before they will be release on the market.
Throughout the week of 20 to 27 April 2023, the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux (UGCB) will be hosting a packed programme of events, not least the main tasting on the banks of the Garonne, along with a host of appellation-specific events across the Bordeaux region.
This year, we expect to welcome a large number of visitors from all over the world.
The end of travel restrictions, the ever-expanding interest in Bordeaux’s Grand Cru wines, and of course the promising buzz around the 2022 vintage, have all whet the appetite of the wine world.
Born in a year marked by extreme weather conditions, the 2022 vintage looks set to reveal some never-before-seen facets of Bordeaux’s many great estates, appellations and terroirs.
With VINTAGE, get the inside track on En Primeur 2022 and all the latest news from Bordeaux’s Grands Crus.”
