After two years of COVID-enforced absence, the great and good of the wine world are once again gathering in Bordeaux for En Primeur Week, marking the launch of the 2021 vintage. Discover the word of the President, and the program.

“Participants are understandably excited to see old friends and partners again, to (re)discover the home of our Grands Crus, and to taste the latest vintage “En Primeurs”.

We have put together a sensational programme for the occasion.

The UGCB will be taking care of the headline events, not least the all-important tasting room, which opens Monday, the welcome dinner at Château d’Yquem and six more receptions at estates dotted across the region. Meanwhile, many UGCB members will be taking advantage of this opportunity to introduce visitors to the latest transformations and innovations taking place at their estates. Bordeaux will also play host to a series of prestigious dinners – traditional highlights of the season which never fail to astound guests. The soirées hosted by the Académie du Vin and the Commanderie du Bontemps promise to be particularly memorable.

Across the week, the movers and shakers who help to champion our culture and wines will be able to taste the new vintage in ideal conditions. They will also have ample opportunity to meet with winemakers and merchants, to really get to grips with the 2021.

A fascinating and eventful vintage which demanded total commitment and expertise, in order to tease out the myriad subtleties of our appellations.

Presentation of the Vintage to trade/retail professionals and the press
Tasting of wines from UGCB member estates.
3 time slots : 9am – 11:30am // 11:30am – 2pm // 2pm – 4:30pm

2021 “En Primeur” welcome evening for trade/retail professionals and the press at Château d’Yquem
