En Primeur Week is just around the corner, discover now the presentation videos of the Vintage 2023 "En Primeurs" by our Châteaux and Ronan Laborde's interview.
The Union des Grands Crus and its members are offering an exceptional programme to welcome the thousands of wine professionals who will join us to discover the 2023 vintage in Bordeaux.
En Primeur week will begin on Monday 22 April with the Main Tasting, bringing together nearly 120 estates at Hangar 14 in Bordeaux.
Then, from Tuesday to Thursday, visitors will be invited to discover the vineyards and taste wines from each appellation across six different châteaux in the Médoc, the Graves and on the Right Bank.
In addition, smaller events will be organised for specialist wine critics while many – if not all – Châteaux will also open their doors to visitors.
For the Bordeaux Great Growth estates and their clients, it is one of the highlights of the year. It precedes the sale of wines from the latest vintage, which takes place in the following weeks, in May and June.
Are you expecting a lot of wine professionals for this year’s edition?
Ronan Laborde : The great international wine merchants, wine retailers, journalists and a few sommeliers will take part in this major event.
We are expecting nearly 6,000 key players from around sixty countries.
Is the 2023 vintage a classic Bordeaux vintage?
RL : It is a very elegant, brilliant, lively and generous vintage.
Bordeaux is a great region, which produces the finest reds, whites and golden-coloured wines, where the weather conditions in a given vintage, the typical characteristics of the terroir, and the enthusiasm of winegrowers result in a wonderful plurality of styles.
This is why specialist clients do not miss the opportunity to attend our tastings to sharpen their expertise.
